Settings
Rename a tracker, change its domain, pause collection, or delete it.
Open a tracker and go to Settings -> General.
Name
The tracker name is a slug: lowercase letters, numbers, and hyphens. It identifies the tracker in the Dashboard and in search, and can be changed at any time without affecting collection — the tag matches on the tracker ID, not the name.
Domain
The domain records which website this tracker belongs to, for example
example.com. You can paste it with a protocol; it is stored without one.
Keep it in sync with where the tag is actually installed. The domain is used by the Connect dialog's site checker and to label the tracker in the Dashboard.
Tracker ID
The tracker ID is generated at creation and cannot be changed. It is the value
your snippet's data-ft attribute must carry. Copy it from the toolbar on the
tracker Dashboard.
To move analytics to a different tracker, create the new tracker and update the snippet; existing data stays with the old tracker.
Pausing collection
Use the status control on the tracker Dashboard to pause and resume collection without editing your website:
- Paused — the beacon tells the tag to stop, so no new sessions or events are recorded. Existing data and reports are unaffected.
- Active — collection resumes immediately on the next page load.
Pausing is the right tool for a staging environment sharing a snippet, or for holding quota during an unexpected traffic spike.
A tracker shown as suspended was disabled by Flowtag for policy reasons and
cannot be resumed from the Dashboard. Contact
support if you believe this is a mistake.
Permissions
Tracker actions are governed by your role in the organization:
| Action | Permission required |
|---|---|
| View trackers and reports | Member |
| Create a tracker | tracker: create (and a verified email address) |
| Change name or domain | tracker: update |
| Delete a tracker | tracker: delete |
Deleting a tracker
Deleting a tracker permanently removes all of its sessions, events, and reports. This cannot be undone, and the data cannot be recovered by support.
- Go to Settings -> General for the tracker.
- Scroll to the Delete tracker section.
- Type the tracker name to confirm and click Delete.
Deleting frees a tracker slot against your plan's tracker limit. If you only want to stop collecting, pause the tracker instead — pausing is reversible, deleting is not.
